Restaurant "Dva jelena" is located in Skadarlija, the bohemian heart of the city also known as Belgrade’s Montmartre. "Dva jelena" is one of the oldest and most visited kafanas in Belgrade. It is also the largest à la carte restaurant, a symbol of tradition and Serbian national cuisine. It was founded in 1832, and since then has proudly written pages of Belgrade’s rich history as one of the city’s favorite kafanas, still gathering guardians of the capital’s urban spirit, lovers of national cuisine, and good wines from around the world. Restaurant "Dva Jelena" has several indoor halls for 450 guests, and five terraces for another 350 people, where every day people enjoy good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and top service. The Piano Lounge enhances the lunchtime atmosphere, while evenings are reserved for unforgettable entertainment with tamburica players and old-town music. In the past, at kafana Dva jelena you could meet famous Yugoslav and world diplomats, writers, actors, and artists, such as Đura Jakšić, Žanka Stokić, Laza Kostić, Milovan Glišić, Josip Broz Tito, or Margaret Thatcher, and in recent years Pierce Brosnan, Gérard Depardieu, Jamie Oliver’s team, Dino Merlin, or the cast of the film Montevideo. More valuable than all that, it seems, is that every day you will also meet smiling Belgraders here, dear guests from various European countries, as well as tourists from all over the world.
