A journey to the heart of Italy's Campania region has recently become possible in the heart of Belgrade. Right next to the Residence of Princess Ljubica, a restaurant with this name, which evokes southern Italy, recently opened. A new and simple interior, in warm colors and natural materials, is especially enhanced by a large wood-fired oven where complete (pizzas) or final (baked pastas) preparation takes place. From appetizers onward, this gastro journey has all the tastes and colors of Italy: from excellent burrata - a cheese similar to mozzarella, which when cut has the texture and softness of kajmak and is served with crostini and grilled vegetables, to the attractive frittelle mix - assorted vegetables and squid breaded in corn flour, ideal for "snacking" in a larger group with a glass of Italian wine at very fair prices. Of course, you definitely must not miss Neapolitan pizza, whose dough goes through a special preparation method, is hand-stretched, and of course baked in the mentioned oven. Deliberately choosing "classics" (Margherita, Capriciosa), precisely to try original flavors, we have only one comment: "Italy, the real one!". We tried the pastas in baked form and made no mistake; very tasty tagliatelle "Prosciutto Crudo" is the local "answer" to the ubiquitous Carbonara, while for the next visit we left meat specialties (ragu alla napoletana, polpette, ...). Caprese cake made without flour, with cocoa and almonds, is a mandatory sweet finish, and for every lover of Italian cuisine Campania must be a mandatory destination.
