Restoran Byblos

Vračar · Mutapova 67,, Vračar · 011 2441938

Back in 2002, in a small Vračar basement, Byblos was created, a house of Lebanese cuisine - a place where different languages are heard, where people smoke "Drina" and hookah, and enjoy delicious food and oriental dance. Sisters Jelena and Katarina Kovačević, with a careful anthropological approach, brought Lebanese culture closer to Belgrade and created one of the symbols of the city we wanted. To be among those 30 people at that moment felt like being in London or Paris. The restaurant was named after the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world, north of Beirut, the "Paris of the Middle East." When the old Vračar house where the restaurant was located was demolished, we moved to 6 Nebojšina, to a new Vračar building hidden behind the treetops of Karađorđe’s Park. The head chef of the new Byblos is Deni Chehwan, whose specialties are remembered by Beirut guests of the "Al Balad" chain. Since 2008, Byblos has been the general representative and distributor of wines from the "Kefraya" house, one of the three most famous wine producers in Lebanon. The long tradition of winemaking in this part of the Middle East, with roots in Phoenicia, and the dominance of French culture during one historical period, make these wines especially interesting and high quality. For you, we have prepared fifty chairs and slightly fewer tables, a terrace in the park, the tastiest food, the best Lebanese wines, the most fragrant tobacco, Arabic coffee, oriental dance, and of course the Belgrade smile and spirit that we have managed to preserve...
